Would you like to work with Maria, but you’re not sure where to start? Or maybe you’ve never hired a professional voiceover artist before and you’d like to learn more? Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) that Maria receives about working with clients and providing voiceover services for all kinds of projects.
What is the difference between a voiceover artist and a voice actor?
Nothing really – the terms are basically interchangeable. Maria is happy to be referred to as a voiceover artist, voice actor, voiceover talent, voiceover actor, voice performer – you name it. A lot of terms to describe a person who provides recordings of their voice for diverse projects.
How much does it cost to hire a voiceover artist?
That depends on your project. No two projects are the same and no two budgets are the same! Maria charges industry-standard and appropriate rates based on the genre and length of the script as well as how the voiceover will be used. Commercial projects are priced differently than narration and imaging. Maria prides herself on being flexible, able to negotiate and is always happy to entertain low-budget projects for non-profits and NGOs. You can afford professional voiceover! Do I need to hire an audio engineer separately for my project?
That depends on how sophisticated your audio mix needs are. If you’re working on national commercial campaigns, broadcast documentaries or network promos and trailers, chances are that you have an engineer on board with your post-production team. But, if you’re working on an industrial project, need recordings for a telephone system or a short explainer video, Maria is qualified to provide edited and simply processed/sweetened audio that you can drop into your system or your video edit.
What does Maria need to know in order for her to consider my project?

- Will the content be used in paid media/advertising or is it non-paid/non-broadcast
- The platforms that the voiceover will be used on/available on
- Any specific timings that need to be hit
